Surreal Conversation
Here's an unspeakable conversation; brushing the edges of
proven knowledge and dabbling in puddles of insanity. Anthony was telling me about
the dreams he was having in the hospital while he was in a coma. (My memories a little
fuzzy so certain details may be misconstrued but the important stuff’s
accurate).
“I was
surrounded by these people in masks who were telling me to follow them. I didn't trust them but I figured fuck it, if they did anything then I’d knock them out.
They took me somewhere that I didn't like. I was still in the hospital but it was all abandoned and the walls were tearing. There were these things, I don’t know what
they were but they were bad, and I wanted to leave. I walked into a room full
of empty hospital beds. The walls were cracked and the place was eerie. It felt
like some sort of hall. I walked to the end of it to a door with a light on the
other side and I could hear peoples voices on the other side but I couldn't get in. I
started screaming for them to open the door and then the scene changed.”
This
intrigued me. He had remembered a little bit more than last time, which had
only consisted of the door that was light on the other side. Many tell a
similar story about a hall with a door at the end and light on the other side. This
got him into talking about all of the things that had made him believe that
there was something more than what we realize.
“Once I
woke up and there were these circles floating right over my head. They were
different colors, and I jumped up and looked at them and they disappeared. My
grandpa had just passed away… but I don’t know.”
My eyes
widened as I listened to his words. My grandma had told a similar story. I didn't believe in such phenomena at that point so I had dismissed the story as the
ramblings of a grandma. The connection was insane though. Her story went
something like this;
“I was
staying with my cousin whose husband had just passed away. We were sleeping in
the same bed, and I woke up in the middle of the night to see an orb floating
over her sleeping body.”
The rest of my memory of her story is too fuzzy for me to
try to elaborate. I don’t think she felt fear; neither did Anthony. They were
really creeped out though.
